Q. Can VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews be taken during pregnancy?
A. VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews provide an excellent source of supplemental calcium for pregnant women. Most prenatal vitamins contain relatively low levels of calcium, so if you do not consume adequate calcium from the foods you eat, VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews are a great tasting supplement in addition to your prenatal supplement.

Q. How much calcium carbonate is contained in one VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chew?
A. Each VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chew contains 500 mg of elemental calcium from 1,250 mg of calcium carbonate.


Q. How well absorbed is the calcium in VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews?
A. Calcium carbonate, nature's most concentrated source of calcium, delivers 500 mg of elemental calcium in each VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chew. The calcium in VIACTIV® has been clinically demonstrated to be absorbed as well as the calcium from low-fat (1%) milk.

Q. What is the source of the calcium in VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews?
A. Calcium carbonate.

Q. Does it matter what time of day VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews are consumed?
A. No. You can take them at any time of the day. However, the calcium carbonate in VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews is better absorbed when taken with food or on a full stomach. Each chew should be taken at different times of the day.

Q. What are my daily calcium needs?
A.
Children 4-8 years 800 mg calcium
9-18 years 1,300 mg calcium
Adults 19-50 years 1,000 mg calcium
Adults Over 50 years 1,200 mg calcium
Pregnant or nursing women    1,000 mg calcium


Q. What is the role of vitamin K in VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews?
A. VIACTIV® is a dietary supplement that provides supplemental calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin K to the diet. It is intended to help consumers achieve recommended daily dietary levels of these nutrients. In addition to its role in blood coagulation, vitamin K plays a role in the body's formation of bone proteins.* One VIACTIV® Calcium Soft chew contains 40 mcg. of vitamin K or 50% of the Daily Value.

Q. Why have vitamins D and K been formulated into VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews?
A. Research shows that vitamin D is important for calcium absorption and vitamin K plays a role in the body's formation of bone proteins.*

Q. Can VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews be used by children?
A. Yes. VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews can by used by any individual over the age of four. Supervision is recommended to determine the appropriate number of
VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews that should be consumed daily. Consumption above recommended levels should be avoided unless specifically prescribed by a physician.Caution should be used to ensure the recommended intake is not exceeded.

A. VIACTIV® Calcium Soft Chews do not contain gluten.
